Mujhe Bolney Do (Let me speak)

Radio series on Violence against Women

Uks in collaboration with Mama Cash, a Netherlands-based organization, produced a series of 16 radio programmes on violence against women. Through these programmes Uks added to the 16 days of activism on gender-based violence against women, in the year 2005. The programme has also challenged myths and preconceived notions that women are not willing to talk about such issues. Moreover, Uks foresees these radio programmes as increasing knowledge, shifting attitudes and moving not just the masses but also the mind set of the owners of radio stations and policy makers across Pakistan.

In the editorial meetings conducted at Uks office, the production team including the scriptwriter, anchorperson, radio producers and music composer were chosen conforming to the relevance of issues of violence against women. Following names are associated with the ‘Mujhe Bolney Do’ series of programmes.
